Crock Pot Cooking 102 TBA $70/person + HST
In this workshop we will cover the basics to making healthy and delicious homemade crock pot meals. This workshop will build on Crock Pot Cooking 102, but it isn't essential that you attend 101. We will learn how to make a simple delicious meals for your busy family. We will discuss the importance of using fresh and local ingredients. But also talk about ways to save money while providing nutritious food for you and your family. We will make three different meals and marinade for a fourth meal. All guests will take home three meals ready for the crock pot as well as a marinade for a fourth. Workshop involves a combination of instruction, hands on activity and recipes to take home. Cooking with Herbs & Spices TBA $40/person plus HST
In this workshop we will cover the basics to cooking with herbs and spices. We will discuss the importance of using fresh and local ingredients. We will make several different spice rubs. All guests will take home three different samples. Workshop involves a combination of instruction, hands on activity and recipes to take home. Samples will be provided throughout the workshop. Cooking with Rhubarb Saturday April 18th 10:30 am - 12:30 pm $50/person
In this workshop we will talk about a spring favourite, Rhubarb! Rhubarb is a delicious versatile ingredient to cook with. Most people think dessert when challenged with a whole bucket of rhubarb, but we will challenge that thinking! In this workshop we will teach you three very different methods for cooking with and baking with locally grown rhubarb. The workshop will be a mixture of hands on activity and lecture. Cooking with Maple Saturday April 25th 10:30 am- 12:30 pm $50/person
In this workshop we will discuss all of the wonderful uses of Maple Syrup! As Canadians are very used to pouring this wonderful liquid on our pancakes, but how often do you cook with it? We will teach you how to make a delicious maple salad dressing, main course and a maple dessert. Spaces are limited so please register in advance. Every guest will take home 3 different products made in class as well as all of the recipes and tips learned in our kitchen! The cost is $50/person (plus HST)
Quick Breads 101 Saturday May 2nd 10:30 am - 12:30 pm $53/person (plus HST)
In this workshop we will cover the basics to making quick breads and simple cakes. We will be making 3 different baked goods in class and you will take home a mix for the fourth. All recipes will be provided. The workshop will be a combination of lecture and hands on activity.
You will learn the basic to baking muffins, waffles, savoury quick breads and tea biscuits. All recipes will be provided, and everyone will take home what was baked during the class!
In this workshop we will focus on canning the bounty of your tomato patch. We will make a tomato sauce, salsa and crushed tomatoes. At the end of this workshop you will go home with a jar of each product as well as the recipe and know how to can all of your tomatoes for the winter months! This workshop is a mixture of hands on activity and lecture. Please register is advance, spaces are limited! this workshop costs $55/person.
